The English as a Foreign Language (EFL) program at ICS-Lima is designed to give support to students in our school whose first language is not English. The goal of this program is to help these students by developing and strengthening their English
skills in order to be successful in the classroom now and in university. Ultimately, these students will be able to effectively listen, speak, read, and write fluently in English in both social and academic settings.
In order to help English language learners to quickly attain mastery of English we have developed an intensive EFL program. The program consists of three components: An academic year educational program, an extended day academic year program, and
an extended year program.
Each of the three components of the ICS-Lima EFL program is instrumental in English language learners achieving mastery of the English language. Students identified in need of EFL instruction are required to participate in all three of the components
until the EFL department and leadership of the school determine that the student has reached proficiency and no longer needs the extra support.
