ICS-Lima is a community of students, parents, and Christian educators, working together as a NICS network school, to instill in each student a passion for truth, a commitment to excellence, and an appreciation for diversity.
ICS-Lima believes every child can reach their full potential and become the person God has made them to be. This is ensured by offering a comprehensive, dynamic model for assessing where each child is as they grow academically and spiritually.
Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) is a dynamic, computer-based test that each child takes at least once per year in the subjects of math and English Language Arts. Fountas & Pinnell is a reading test given multiple times per year to elementary students to ensure that they are at or above their grade level in reading.
SATs are encouraged for each Junior and Senior as part of the university preparatory process. Advanced Placement (AP) exams are given to students who participate in AP courses and offer the opportunity to earn university credit. Qualified students are eligible to receive the Advanced Placement International Diploma.
WIDA is a test given to assess incoming and current non-native English speaking students. These tests help to assess which level of coursework the student will take and to determine when a child has graduated from the English as a Foreign Language program.
